Step-by-Step ID Review
This week I took on the task of finding a scenario-based eLearning on my own to evaluate.Â
I would like to preface with stating I have only minimal experience evaluating eLearning objects, and it is as recent as the last month. My experience in this is thanks to an assignment from another course, and my evaluation can be viewed here. My experience with ID reviews is the same, and that can be viewed here.
The eLearning that I found is called Partnering to Heal and is located on the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services website. It was designed to provide training on infection control practices in a healthcare institution. The trigger event is a worst-case scenario where several members of a hospital care team made poor choices with hand hygiene and compliance with infection control, and the result was the loss of someone's life from a preventable hospital acquired infection. The eLearning lets you choose any member of the healthcare team [it presents several from varying levels of care] and allows you to make the choices for them so that the outcome of the original scenario is not repeated.
